Barron Trivia Answer
18th-Dec-2005 09:51 am
Which famous fantasy author played a major role in T.A. Barron's very first book 'Heartlight' getting published and jump-starting his career?

The Answer to the trivia question is:

Madeleine L'Engle, well known author of such books as: A Wrinkle In Time, A Wind In The Door, Many Waters, etc., A Ring of Endless Light, and many, many others.

While the details are not known, it is said that somehow Ms. L'Engle ended up reading the manuscript for Heartlight and was influential in having it published after it had been turned down by many agents and publishing houses.

On an interesting note, Madeleine has her own author's website which includes an actual mailing address for any fans wishing to contact her.

ah, so that's it. Well, glad she did end up reading it. I love that book. (I'm also glad I didn't cheat. =P) Thanks for the answer! Oh, also, has there yet been a date set for the release of Book II The Great Tree of Avalon Shadows on the Stars? So far the only things I've seen for it have said 'coming soon!'

Is that off of his website? Are you in the US?
It's been out since October!
Head out to your local bookstore and you should find it (though I notice that at my B&N it's actually in the Adult fantasy section instead of the kids *shrugs with confusion*). It's AMAZING. I've read all his works and it's his best one yet and certainly most imaginative.
Now, the third book (so far titled 'The Eternal Flame') is set to be released Fall of next year.
Also, I know his book signings have pretty much ended for this year, but around fall of next year check into his website, check his schedule and maybe he'll be coming somewhere near where you live. If you can, you HAVE to meet him - he really is the nicest author I have ever met. He enjoys questions and really shows a lot of love for his fans.
Hope this has helped ;)

ah, is it out already? I can't believe I missed that. *embarrassed* (and I call myself a fan!). I usually get updated when there's new releases. Well, I am definitely going down to the book store first thing tomorrow. I'm still astonished that I missed that. Completely ridiculous. *sheepish* Ah, but thank you. And yes, you've been a great help, I am definitely going to check out his book signing schedule.
